The Washington Post reported today that President Barack Obama delivered his second annual back-to-school speech on Tuesday. The President addressed students, teachers and school administrators at the Julia R. Masterman Laboratory and Demonstration School in Philadelphia, PA.
In his message, he stressed the importance of students taking personal responsibility and encouraged them to “work hard” and “dream big” to achieve success in their future. He told the students that while government would do its part to help provide access to a quality education, and students will need to do their part to ensure a bright future for themselves.
The text of Obama’s speech was released Monday to allow those with concerns about the content of the speech to review it. See below to watch yesterday’s speech.
