SUNSET RIDGE SCHOOL
Sunset Ridge School has 300 students. Average class size is approximately 17 students. Our small class size and teacher-student ratio support the District’s child-centered philosophy. The 4-5 program is distinct from the junior high; the school day, schedule, teaching practices and educational setting are tailored to best provide a developmentally appropriate, yet rigorous learning environment for all students.
The Principal of Sunset Ridge is the school’s educational leader. He or she oversees the educational program, working with teachers to ensure the success of each child. He or she participates in the recruiting, retaining and supervision of staff. He or she maintains frequent and effective communication with parents and interacts with the PTO and community. The Principal is responsible for managing student discipline and overseeing the school’s code of conduct. He or she collaborates with the Student Services Department and is responsible for overseeing the school’s day to day operations, including scheduling and student safety. The Principal is responsible for the school budget, working closely with the District’s business office. He or she may be asked to lead school or district committees on an as needed basis.
