This basic phonics skills unit for grades 2-3 provides two activity pages in which students divide words into syllables using rules about two consonants in the middle of a word (cap*tain), first vowel is a long vowel sound (be*gin) or short vowel sound (plan*et), or the word ends in consonant plus 'le' (ta*ble/pud*dle).
