This lesson teaches the initial consonant blend "bl". An initial consonant blend is a sound made by two consonants making one sound. Initial consonant blends are usually heard at the beginning of words. Two letter "l" blends are "bl,cl,fl,gl,pl, and sl." Each lesson includes teacher introduction, teaching objectives, a picture card and 4 worksheets. Teacher directed instructions include auditory exercises for whole group instruction. A story or poem to help introduce the vowel and can be displayed on a SMART Board (or other interactive whiteboard) for whole group instruction.
